Making Yourself Over After College

When you enter college you think that four years will take forever. You work everyday towards a goal that seems to far away and then suddenly you are standing at the podium receiving your cap and gown. After you have worked so hard and have received your degree, you really have to start thinking about finding a job and determining what you want to do with the rest of your life. One of the most important parts of moving on after college is performing a makeover on yourself.

Fashion in college can be described as comfortable at best. Many kids are on their own for the first time, they are wearing clothes that are easy to wash, cheap, and comfortable. While this fashion choice is great for sitting in classroom, it is not appropriate for the work place. It is important to look at the way that you are dressing and determine if you are in need of a fashion makeover. Take a look at the areas that you would like to work in. Observe what other people are wearing and try to mimic what they are wearing.

Another thing to consider is if the hair style or makeup that you wore in college will be appropriate for the job market that you are entering. When in college, it is perfectly acceptable to wear a ponytail to class everyday. You probably do not wear makeup or take much time on your appearance. When you are working, this will not be acceptable. It might be necessary to change the way you do your hair. Many women cut their hair shorter after college. It is often a way to show a lifestyle change and to appear more adult and grown up. Making a change like these might make you feel more ready to enter the working world.
